Friday,October 27, 2023 - 5:30 to 8:45 pm
OASIS Community Center
The fun starts with a Tex-Mex themed potluck. We’ll provide a list of suggested contributions that guests can sign up to bring.
After dinner, we’ll settle in to watch “Coco,” a Disney Pixar animated musical. A young aspiring musician Miguel, when confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
This movie was inspired by Dia De Los Muertos (Mexican Day of the Dead), a two-day holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration.
Email info@oasisbethlehem.org to register and receive potluck sign-up link.
Banners are displayed at Steel Stacks throughout September
The Angels of the Lehigh Valley memorial banners aim to raise awareness of the opioid epidemic and reduce the stigma associated with people who have lost their lives due to the disease of substance use.
They also serve to recognize the grief felt by families and friends. The banners signify the passing of someone cherished and sends a message that the tragedy of drug-related death is preventable, and those who are suffering should feel no shame in asking for help.
Sponsored by Speak Up for Ben, Inc. in partnership with Lehigh Valley Hospital Network and ArtsQuest.
New banners are created each year and hung alongside previously created banners. New submissions accepted only during July. Should you wish to receive notification when ArtsQuest opens their submission portal, please email us at: info@oasisbethlehem.org.
