Our Mission: We are Fighting the Opioid Crisis, One Family at a Time
Through compassion and understanding of the family disease of addiction, the OASIS COMMUNITY CENTER provides education, support, comfort, and healing to people who have experienced a substance-related loss, as well as families and friends impacted by a loved one’s active substance use.
We do so with the understanding that the effects of a loved one’s substance use disorder can cause trauma. At OASIS, our staff practices a trauma-informed care (TIC) approach which emphasizes safety, collaboration, and compassion.
OASIS Community Center is operated by SPEAK UP for BEN, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Learn more about our nonprofit at www.speakupforben.org.
“Welcome —and thank you for visiting our site! I am a parent of a son who suffered with opioid use disorder, and I’ve travelled the difficult road of not knowing where to get help. I was also raised by parents with untreated alcohol use disorder and mental illness, and have done the hard but necessary work on my own recovery from trauma.
I have been professionally credentialed by the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a Certified Family Recovery Specialist (CFRS) and am here to support and guide you and your family to resources to help you heal and build resiliency. I also work with individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one as a result of a substance-related cause, in my role as a Grief Educator & Companion and Grief Recovery Method Specialist. I invite you to meet with me for a complimentary and confidential session to help you navigate the complex, yet, hopeful world of family recovery resources. Together, we CAN heal.”
